About two weeks ago, I sent a query letter to an agent. She sent (as they usually do), a form letter telling me that she did not feel that she was the right agent for my project. Fair enough. However, at the bottom of the e-mail was what appeared to be an advertisement for another of her clients' books! Cheeky, don't you think??? To be honest, I was not offended. I have had much worse no-thank letters and this one was polite. I had one that was type written on a scrap of paper. I had another that had my name on the top of the letter but mentioned the wrong book title. Essentially, I got some other poor guy's no-thank you letter! At least I got my own material back! LOL
That's the thing with the whole agent search. You can be bitter or you can laugh about it. I choose to laugh and move on. Not easy, but if I didn't I would give up tomorrow... and you wouldn't find out what happens to Demon, Kit and Tanith ;D
