The title is self-explanatory. We went camping this weekend at Lake Erie. I did not take my laptop (for shame). I took a notebook and a pen which stayed at the bottom of my purse and never saw the light of day. Well, maybe it did once...when I pulled it out while looking for something else. It went right back into the purse and stayed there for the rest of the weekend. Besides, it is much easier to write on the computer than on paper. My fingers can't keep up with the flow of thoughts when I am trying to use a pen and paper. On the computer, everything flies. Perhaps that is why I chose to leave work at home this time. Usually I don't go anywhere without my laptop so I can work. While it is at home, I think about other things, like camping. I may think about writing, but can't do anything about it except take notes (hence the reason for the paper and pen- I got caught once before with a great idea and no way to write it down... never again) If I have the laptop with me, I feel itchy the whole time I am not working on it. I count the seconds until I can get back to writing. Not exactly quality bonding time.
It was a nice break but now that I am home again, I find that my character is demanding to be heard. I did some editing last night and the story seems to be coming together nicely. Now that I have edited to where I left off, perhaps I can finish the book?
